Overview

A leading organization in the Technical Services sector is seeking a Tax Manager to join their team remotely within the United States. This role focuses on enhancing forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning processes that support business decisions. The position involves collaboration with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to improve planning, financial discipline, controls, and resource allocation. It offers the opportunity to influence enterprise performance and develop scalable financial operations.

Location: Remote (US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available)

Compensation: $143,000 – $172,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Manage all US federal and state income tax compliance and planning
  • Execute quarterly and annual tax provision processes under ASC 740
  • Lead global indirect tax compliance, including sales and use tax, VAT/GST, and gross receipts
  • Support identification and maximization of R&D tax credits
  • Manage tax audits and maintain related documentation
  • Support tax accruals and reconciliations during month-end and quarter-end close
  • Design and improve tax processes using automation and AI tools

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of US and international tax experience, preferably with Big 4 or multinational firms
  • Master's degree in taxation, CPA, JD, LLM, or equivalent certifications preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP income tax accounting (ASC 740)
  • Hands-on experience with sales tax and VAT compliance tools such as Avalara
  • Familiarity with transfer pricing principles
  • Experience in high-growth SaaS or cloud companies is a plus
  • Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Expertise in US GAAP income tax accounting and ASC 740
  • Proficiency with sales tax compliance tools (e.g., Avalara)
  • Experience with AI tools for tax automation, including machine learning models for data processing
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau for tax data analysis and presentation
  • Knowledge of cloud-based accounting solutions like QuickBooks or NetSuite to support tax compliance
  • Experience with workflow automation software (e.g., Monday.com, Asana) for managing tax processes
  • Competence in database management systems (e.g., SQL) for handling tax-related data
  • Use of document management systems (e.g., SharePoint) for tax documentation and compliance
