Overview
This role involves joining a centralized tax processing team to prepare individual tax returns (Form 1040 and related schedules) in a paperless environment. The position is remote and temporary, spanning from August 2026 through October 2026.
Responsibilities
- Enter client data into tax preparation software
- Prepare tax returns in accordance with firm policies
- Adhere to written tax practice standards and the 1040 procedure manual
- Ensure client confidentiality by following all procedures regarding information handling
Requirements
- Must have participated in BT Prep for the 2025 Tax Season
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Individual tax return preparation experience is ideal but not required
- Knowledge of basic accounting concepts involved in tax return preparation is ideal but not required
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat preferred
- Adaptable to new technology and ability to work in a paperless environment
- Professional demeanor with ability to handle matters confidentially
- Keen sense of accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated critical thinking and well-developed problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to provide exceptional client service and exhibit a sense of urgency to complete work timely
- Availability to work August 2026 through October 2026
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay rate range: $21.59 to $37.75 per hour
- Actual compensation depends on skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, work arrangements, and geographic location
