Overview
A leading global technology organization is seeking a Tax Reporting Manager to join their Global Tax function and lead US income tax reporting. This newly created role reflects the growth of US operations and the commitment to building a best-in-class tax organization. The position is based in the United States and reports to the Tax Reporting team in Amsterdam. It offers an opportunity to take ownership of the US income tax reporting function within a high-growth, publicly traded technology company with a complex international structure.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review the US income tax provision quarterly and annually in accordance with ASC 740.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Treasury, and Legal teams on transactions, restructurings, and strategic initiatives.
- Analyze the US tax impact of international tax provisions, including GILTI, Subpart F, FDII, BEAT, and foreign tax credits.
- Analyze and monitor US tax implications on real estate investments, including FIRPTA rules and transfer taxes.
- Design, implement, and maintain SOX-compliant internal controls over US income tax reporting.
- Manage interactions with external auditors and coordinate supporting documentation.
- Oversee US federal and multi-state income tax compliance, including multi-state apportionment schedules, in partnership with external advisors.
- Review tax returns, estimated payments, and extensions.
- Support drafting and completing various US federal tax forms for US and non-US entities and US tax registrations.
- Monitor and assess the impact of new US and international tax legislation, accounting standards, and regulatory guidance on tax positions and reporting obligations.
- Monitor US withholding tax obligations and requirements, with experience in US tax treaties and limitation on benefits provisions desirable.
- Drive process improvement and automation initiatives across the tax reporting function, leveraging NetSuite and tax provision technology.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Taxation (MST) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive corporate income tax experience within a Big Four environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of US federal and state income tax principles, including international tax provisions (GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Subpart F, FTC).
- Hands-on experience with ASC 740 and SEC reporting for a publicly traded company, including preparation of tax-related disclosures.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of effective collaboration across time zones and functions.
- Ability to work effectively in an international organization with stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience with SOX controls and external audit processes.
- Prior in-house experience at a US-listed multinational, ideally in technology or cloud infrastructure sectors.
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite and tax provision software.
- Proficiency with data and automation tools.
