Overview

A company specializing in workplace wellness is seeking a Tax Senior Manager to join their Tax team in the United States. This role is responsible for managing the full US tax lifecycle, including compliance with federal and state income taxes, sales and use taxes, and supporting Canadian operations. The position also leads the tax provision process, maintains SOX controls, and provides technical tax support to the accounting team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all US federal, state, and local tax compliance activities, including managing BPO providers for timely filing of income tax returns and extensions.
  • Oversee sales and use tax reporting, nexus monitoring, and defend tax audits.
  • Manage the preparation and review of quarterly and annual US income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 and IFRS, including deferred taxes, valuation allowances, and uncertain tax positions (FIN 48).
  • Design, implement, and maintain a SOX-compliant internal control environment for the US tax function.
  • Provide technical tax guidance and support month-end close activities, including validation of tax journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Monitor changes in tax accounting standards and manage their impact on financial statements.
  • Promote wellbeing within the team by fostering a supportive environment that encourages work-life balance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related field.
  • Prior tax experience, preferably with a Big 4 accounting firm or a multinational corporation.
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 740, IFRS, US GAAP, and international tax compliance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; experience with AI tools is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with tax software (e.g., OneSource) and ERP systems is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-departmental stakeholders.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual base salary range in New York, California, Colorado, Massachusetts, and Washington: $116,394 - $130,943 USD. Salary for other locations may vary based on geographic location, experience, skills, and qualifications.
