Overview

This role supports a holistic wealth management team by providing tax planning and preparation services for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. The Tax Support Specialist assists the tax practitioner team with administrative tasks related to tax returns, client communications, and workflow management to ensure an exceptional client experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for client-facing and internal administrative tasks related to tax, including maintaining client tax documents.
  • Assist staff with workflow management and monitor data integrity using various reports.
  • Assemble tax returns and handle electronic filing.
  • Collaborate closely with the tax practitioner team and Tax Operations Manager to ensure timely communication with clients and internal teams.
  • Communicate professionally and promptly with clients to maintain a high-quality experience.
  • Manage client invoicing for tax services.
  • Handle shipping, scanning, and assembling of tax returns and related client documents.
  • Support off-peak tax season projects to optimize team performance and client service.
  • Perform other general administrative duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an administrative or assistant role.
  • Ability and willingness to work with dynamic professionals.
  • Strong work ethic with a self-starter attitude; able to perform under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and team-oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a busy environment.
  • Eagerness to develop expertise in the role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting tax or financial services teams is advantageous.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay range: $31 - $36 USD per hour, dependent on geographic location, experience, education, skills, and certifications.

Location

  • This position is remote and can be located anywhere in the United States.
  • Travel to the nearest office may be required.

Work Schedule

  • Standard business hours Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
  • Saturdays as needed during tax season.
  • Occasional early or late hours to meet business deadlines.

Working Conditions

  • Work may be performed in a professional office environment or a dedicated home office free of interruptions.
  • Basic technology needs will be provided.
  • Routine sitting and standing; no heavy lifting over 10 lbs.
