Overview

This role involves joining a private capital ecosystem as a Certified Transaction Analysis Associate operating as an independent contractor. Associates support investors, fund managers, sponsors, and operators on live private market transactions by providing transaction analysis, modeling, due diligence, and execution support.

Responsibilities

Depending on certification approvals, associates may perform work in the following areas:

  • Transaction Modeling & Valuation:

    • 3-statement financial models
    • DCF and LBO modeling
    • Merger models and accretion/dilution analysis
    • Commercial real estate underwriting
    • Sensitivity and scenario analysis
    • Comparable company and precedent transaction analysis
    • Valuation summaries (football field charts)
    • Transaction structuring analysis
  • Due Diligence & Execution Support:

    • Quality of Earnings (QoE) analysis
    • Financial statement review and normalization
    • Commercial and operational diligence
    • Data room organization and analysis
    • Risk identification and mitigation
    • Investment memo and committee presentation support
    • Buyer/seller side transaction support

Associates only perform work in categories for which they have earned approval through assessment and performance.

Requirements

To qualify, candidates must meet at least one of the following:

  • Score 70% or higher in at least one category of the Analyst Certification Assessment
  • Completion of approved financial training
  • Hold an active professional credential such as CFA, CPA, Series 7, 63, 79, or equivalent

Certification Levels & Compensation

Associates are rated on a 0–100 Analyst Rating Score that determines their platform visibility, approved work categories, and recommended hourly rates.

  • Senior Transaction Associate

    • Rating Score: 90–100
    • Pay: $150–200/hour
    • Typical Background: 5+ years in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, transaction advisory, Big 4 TAS, or senior corporate development
  • Lead Transaction Associate

    • Rating Score: 80–89
    • Pay: $100–150/hour
    • Typical Background: 3–5 years in transaction modeling, diligence, or execution
  • Transaction Associate

    • Rating Score: 60–79
    • Pay: $50–100/hour
    • Typical Background: Entry to mid-level finance professionals with strong technical and analytical skills in deal environments

Compensation & Deal Terms

  • Associates operate as independent contractors, not employees
  • Hourly rates depend on Analyst Rating Score and approval level
  • Associates may earn up to 10% of the first $100,000 in transaction fees
  • Maximum deal-based earning capped at $2,500 per transaction
  • Payments are issued only after successful deal completion and fee collection
  • Approvals may be revoked for quality or compliance issues

Compliance

Associates do not provide investment advice, solicit securities, or represent the organization in any regulated capacity. Work is limited to analytical, diligence, modeling, and transaction support functions and must comply with applicable securities laws.
