Overview
This paid internship role focuses on researching the venture capital market and writing memos based on your findings.
The organization is a global network of family offices, institutional investors, VCs, and angels. It screens deal flow tightly, and investments may be made alongside network partners.
This is a paid internship built to grow into a full-time seat. The role suits someone who already follows this market closely, forms informed opinions, and wants to write about it over the next few years.
Responsibilities
- Company memos: Write structured memos explaining why a company is interesting, who belongs in the round, and what would have to be true for the investment thesis to fail.
- Sector research: Identify what is heating up and what is over-owned, and support both with evidence.
- Investor research: Research which investors are active, what they invest in, the stages they target, and what they are known for.
- Publication and audience-specific writing:
- Prepare published versions of your work.
- Write pieces tailored to two audiences the organization supports: family offices and pre-seed founders.
- Some content may be distributed from founders’ accounts in their voice.
- Collaboration: Work directly with the two co-founders, and also collaborate with the Head of Brand once that role is filled.
Requirements
- Follow the venture market closely and be able to discuss current rounds, including identifying ones you believe are incorrect.
- Already write and research in this space, and can turn that work into memos or articles.
- High accuracy and attention to detail (e.g., wrong fund name, round size, or attribution can damage credibility).
- Use AI every day, with strong judgment about what should not touch your work and where AI use could degrade the output.
Compensation & Benefits
- Paid internship.
- Remote and async work.
