Overview

This role sits within Finance (G&A) and reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). You will be part of the Extended Leadership Team and help plan, report, and ensure appropriate funding across the organization.

Location: London, Amsterdam or Stockholm. Remote-first, with travel as and when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and forecasting

    • Own the annual budget, quarterly reforecast, and long-range plan.
    • Develop scenario and funding cases for the C-suite and board.
    • Own forecast accuracy against agreed tolerances and lead honest post-mortems when forecasts miss or overachieve.
  • Board, investor, and lender reporting

    • Own the monthly board pack and the analysis behind it.
    • Prepare materials for existing and prospective investors, as well as the receivables lender, including covenant reporting and onsite diligence materials.
    • Present to these audiences directly and be the first point of contact for analytical questions.
  • Corporate finance

    • Build models and documentation for equity and debt financing.
    • Analyse term sheets and support the CFO on transactions.
    • Work with the People team on cap table and option pool considerations.
  • Commercial and unit economics

    • Own cohort economics, customer lifetime value, geographic and segment profitability, and return on marketing and sales spend.
    • With the CRO’s organization, build quota and commission models so targets, incentives, and forecast inputs align on the same numbers.
  • Business partnering

    • Partner with Product and Engineering, Fulfilment, Fintech, and commercial teams on build-vs-buy decisions, hiring cases, pricing and fee experiments, and capital allocation.
    • Provide clear recommendations with modeling support (yes/no/not yet).
  • Lead the finance function

    • Lead the team: hiring, onboarding, objectives, development, and performance, including written objectives and regular structured feedback.
    • Set the review standard and deliverables calendar.
    • Agree data contracts with the Data team.
    • Own the tooling (Snowflake, NetSuite, ThoughtSpot, Claude, and the modeling stack).
    • Drive performance measures including on-time delivery, internal error detection, forecast accuracy, and throughput for recurring deliverables.

What Good Looks Like

  • First 90 days

    • Take over the monthly pack and reforecast without investors noticing the handover.
    • Align with leadership-team peers on what changes you would make and in what order.
  • 90 to 180 days

    • Deliver monthly pack, FP&A-approved numbers, and lender reporting on the agreed date with named owners and written processes.
    • Ensure no board, lender, or investor numbers require restatement.
    • Deliver the first version of business line P&Ls by day 180.
  • Twelve months

    • Deliver month-end and board commitments without requiring CFO intervention (including during time away).
    • Enable at least one end-to-end new analytical capability through team execution.
    • Ensure FP&A and Data operate from one set of metric definitions.
    • Enable board members, lenders, and leadership to rely on the numbers without CFO “vouching.”

Requirements

  • Background in investment banking, FP&A, or venture capital, with experience building models that senior stakeholders used to make decisions.
  • Experience leading a team, directly or through managers, with interest in the people-management component.
  • Ability to present to boards, investors, or lenders as the person answering the question (not only the person producing slides).
  • Working understanding of marketplace dynamics, including:
    • two-sided liquidity
    • take rates
    • usage-based revenue without a contract
    • FX impacts
    • complex cohort modeling
  • Comfort using Snowflake and a modern BI tool; ability to integrate AI tooling into the stack and improve data pipelines rather than manually reformat outputs.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, low ego, and comfortable addressing issues early.
  • The function must not fail on:
    • Timeliness (deadlines as commitments)
    • Quality (external-facing numbers reconciled to primary sources and reviewed by someone other than the author)
    • Capacity (organize, prioritize, delegate; if capacity is a hard limit, make a hire or automation case with numbers)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with receivables financing or lender reporting.
  • Experience in a multi-jurisdiction group.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite.
  • Experience in a business that trades physical goods across borders.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Flexible working hours and a remote-first working environment
  • Unlimited holiday allowance
  • Participation in an equity programme
  • Opportunities for growth (promote from within and invest in development)
  • Opportunity to join during an expansion phase and help shape operations at scale

Interview Process

  • Screening conversation with Talent Acquisition
  • Structured career-history interview with Hiring Manager
  • Focus interview: you present a case study to a panel from Finance and the leadership team
  • Final conversation with the C-suite
