2027 Internal Audit Internship

Overview

This 12-week, fully remote internship offers an opportunity to join the Internal Audit team as a Summer 2027 Internal Audit Intern. The internship is designed to provide practical, on-the-job experience, mentoring, and professional networking as you prepare for a future in audit and risk management.

Two internship sessions are available for Summer 2027, with start dates in May and June to accommodate varying academic calendars. Applicants will be able to indicate their preferred session during the application process.

Responsibilities

• Support internal audit engagement teams by assisting with planning for and auditing processes and controls in accounting, finance, information technology, and operations to ensure accuracy, effectiveness, and reliability.
• Assist with testing of internal controls over financial reporting (SOX).
• Assist the lead auditor with tasks including planning, organization of documentation, meeting scheduling, and other administrative tasks associated with audits.
• Develop an understanding of company operations, including specific insurance and financial services industry practices.
• Provide regular status updates and communicate findings to the audit team.
• Report to the Audit Project Manager and/or Audit Manager.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program pursuing a finance, accounting, or related degree with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior IT-related coursework, technical skills, or experience.

Remote Network Minimum Requirements

• Minimum Internet Speed: 100 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload.
• Internet Type: Fiber, Cable (e.g., Comcast, Spectrum), or DSL.
• Not permissible: Satellite (e.g., Starlink), cellular broadband (hotspot or otherwise), any other wireless technology, or wired dial-up.
• During the application process, you will be asked to test your internet speed and confirm your connection meets or exceeds the standard.
