Remote summer internship (Ohio)

This role is part of a 10.5-week Enterprise Internship program. Interns complete meaningful, line-of-business projects, receive coaching and feedback, and participate in networking events and Learning Labs. An assigned mentor provides knowledge, experience, and advice.

As an Internal Audit Intern, you will gain experience working on audits and support the internal audit function’s independent assessment of processes and risks. Internal Audit tests the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management practices, makes recommendations for improvement, and monitors remediation efforts.

Responsibilities

• Support one or two audits to gain insight into all phases of an audit (planning, fieldwork, and reporting).
• Work in alignment with an annual Audit Plan; weekly assignments are based on current reviews on your assigned team.
• Participate in audit-specific training and enterprise-wide Learning Labs.
• Attend and engage in networking with other Internal Audit interns and members of Internal Audit’s Senior Leadership Team.
• Present internship experience at the conclusion of the program to Internal Audit Senior Leadership Team and managers.
• Work typically follows 8-hour days; interns are not expected to work more than 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least three years toward a four-year, undergraduate degree program.
• Coursework in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, or other business-related degree.
• Anticipated graduation in or before May 2028.
• Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.25.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork through past work experience and/or extracurricular activities.
• Solid analytical, problem-solving, communication (oral & written), and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly rate: $23 per hour.
• $2,000 Summer Internship Sign-on Bonus.

Location

• For those who work at home: Ohio (Remote)
• The internship is performed in a virtual environment with teammates located in over 20 states.
• If located close to Buffalo, NY or Cleveland, OH, there may be an option to occasionally work in an office setting.

Additional Information

• Placement for Internal Audit interns may be in one or more areas, including Lending, Deposits, Payments, Compliance, Capital Markets, Asset Management, and more.
• Based on performance, interns may be offered placement in a full-time position as a Rotational Analyst with Internal Audit upon graduation.
• Employment visa sponsorship is not available for internship and analyst positions (e.g., H-1B visa), including situations requiring H-1B sponsorship within a few years of employment to maintain eligibility.
