Accountant

Overview

This role supports the accounting function as a Staff Accountant on the finance team. The position is detail-oriented and proactive, helping ensure accurate and compliant accounting records while supporting financial reporting and external audits. The role is remote-friendly and reports directly to the Controller.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable by receiving and validating vendor invoices, obtaining internal approvals, and maintaining accurate records in the accounting system.
• Send remittances to vendors to ensure timely and correct application of payments.
• Record and classify bank transactions accurately and in a timely manner within the accounting system.
• Maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and updating financial transactions to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Support external audit processes by providing required documentation, account reconciliations, explanations of accounting transactions, and responding promptly to auditor inquiries.
• Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 2–4 years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
