Overview
An organization is seeking an Accountant to prepare and manage financial records and reports, contributing to the overall financial health and accountability of the team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial records and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information
- Maintain the general ledger (GL)
- Manage accounts payable for assigned programs, including review of processing and reporting
- Prepare monthly journal entries and allocations
- Process and report fixed assets
- Manage and review American Express (AMEX) reports and files
- Assist with billing and ATP review
- Separate and mail accounts payable checks
- Assist with client and insurance payment entry into the electronic health record (EHR)
- Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing responsibilities
- Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations
- Audit and verify financial documents
- Prepare internal management information reports such as program performance breakdowns, expense analysis, and budget projections
- Interface with outside audit firms, banks, lessors, and credit card companies
- Utilize financial planning concepts to interact with accounting information systems and analyze cost, utilization, and performance-related information
- Monitor cash flow activity and ensure financial plans align with organizational goals
Requirements
- Experience with general ledger management and accounts payable
- Ability to prepare journal entries, allocations, and fixed asset reporting
- Familiarity with billing processes and electronic health record systems
- Strong skills in financial analysis, auditing, and report preparation
- Experience interfacing with external auditors and financial institutions
- Knowledge of cash flow monitoring and financial planning principles
