Overview

A leading provider of enterprise-class data center, cloud, and interconnection services is seeking a Staff Accountant to support its financial operations. The organization is committed to delivering 100% uptime availability of data, applications, and infrastructure for its clients and offers customized technology solutions to help customers manage risk and enhance technology performance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Tax Director in preparing and filing federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring all supporting documentation is complete and deadlines are met
  • Manage the tax filing process by coordinating timelines for sign-offs and approvals
  • Participate in the financial close process by making necessary adjusting and accrual journal entries
  • Conduct audit-ready account analysis and reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive financial tax records, including documentation of paid taxes and supporting analysis
  • Assist in preparing responses to inquiries from federal, state, and local tax authorities
  • Support the management of sales and use tax systems and processes, including handling sales tax exemptions
  • Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements
  • Perform additional accounting tasks as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field; additional accounting certifications are a plus
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting, with a preference for experience in tax accounting
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency with financial accounting software; experience with NetSuite is advantageous
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid computer skills, including MS Office Suite, with intermediate proficiency in Excel (familiarity with functions such as VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating critical thinking and professional judgment
  • Capability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Proactive attitude and a detail-oriented approach to work
