Accountant

Overview

A nonprofit organization focused on empowering global communities that support individuals with disabilities through rehabilitation training programs is seeking a compassionate, pro-bono accountant. This volunteer role supports the organization's financial operations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile one checking account and one savings account quarterly
• Prepare and submit IRS Form 990 tax filings
• Manage payroll and related taxes for two part-time employees
• Perform monthly bookkeeping for seven accounts involving approximately 1,400 transactions annually
• Provide general compliance consultation
• Account auditing (optional, not required)

Requirements

• Must be based in the USA
• Demonstrate high levels of fiduciary responsibility
• Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software

Compensation & Benefits

• This is a volunteer position
• The successful applicant may be eligible for a stipend
