Accounting Consultant - Engagement Director

Overview

The organization is seeking Accounting Consultants (Engagement Directors) for Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS). CAAS provides customized accounting support for clients (typically larger than $50M) on an interim and project basis.

In this role, you will serve as a high-level accounting resource across accounting, finance, tax, and audit functions, with opportunities to take on project work and interim responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a high-level interim or project-based accounting resource for clients across various industries, including roles such as:
  • Interim Controller
  • Financial Reporting Manager
  • Internal Audit Manager
• Design and improve accounting processes, including:
  • Monthly close
  • Management and financial reporting
  • Forecasting
  • Consolidations
  • System implementations
• Take an active and hands-on approach in executing client engagements.
• Manage engagement delivery while providing exceptional client service.
• Travel may be required; opportunities may increase based on openness to travel.

Requirements

• 8 years of relevant work experience, including public accounting (10+ years preferred).
• Prior industry experience as a CFO, Controller, SEC Reporting, or Internal Audit Manager equivalent is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required (combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree).
• Mastery in Microsoft Excel and experience with a variety of accounting software.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.
• Prior project management experience and exceptional client service management experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant work experience (public accounting preferred).
• Experience equivalent to CFO, Controller, SEC Reporting, or Internal Audit Manager.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly compensation range in New York: $50 – $90/hr (pay may be impacted by geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge).
