Accounting Consultant - Engagement Director

Overview

The organization is seeking Accounting Consultants (Engagement Directors) for Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS). CAAS provides customized accounting support for clients (typically larger than $50M) on an interim and project basis.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a high-level interim or project-based accounting resource for clients across various industries in accounting, finance, tax, and audit roles (e.g., Interim Controller, Financial Reporting Manager, Internal Audit Manager).
• Design and improve accounting processes including monthly close, management and financial reporting, forecasting, consolidations, and system implementations.
• Take an active, hands-on approach in executing client engagements.
• Travel for client needs as opportunities arise.
• Manage multiple engagements as able, supporting both career growth and life balance.

Requirements

• 8 years of relevant work experience, including public accounting (10+ years preferred).
• Prior industry experience as a CFO, Controller, SEC Reporting, or Internal Audit Manager equivalent is preferred (Big Four experience is well-regarded).
• Bachelor’s degree required; a combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred.
• Mastery of Microsoft Excel and experience using a variety of accounting software.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.
• Prior project management and exceptional client service management experience preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• Compensation range for this position in Illinois: $50/hr. – $90/hr.
