Accounting Consultant

Overview

This full-time, remote Junior Accounting Consultant role involves managing and supporting clients' Unanet accounting and project systems. Responsibilities include system configuration, maintenance, and process optimization to ensure accurate financial management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries
• Maintain general ledger integrity
• Support month-end close processes
• Produce accurate and timely financial statements and reports
• Analyze financial data and troubleshoot system and accounting issues
• Recommend process improvements
• Train client staff on Unanet functionality and best practices
• Collaborate with client finance and operations teams to ensure compliance with government contracting requirements
• Align system workflows with business objectives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP, DCAA, and month-end close processes
• Experience managing accounting for multiple entities or clients
• Proficiency with Unanet
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliations
• Excellent communication skills and client-service orientation

Preferred Qualifications

• Unanet implementation certification
• Experience in outsourced accounting, public accounting, or multi-client environments
• Familiarity with government contracting accounting, indirect rates, or DCAA compliance
• Ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple clients
