Accounting Manager - 10 Month Maternity Leave Contract

Overview

This is a 10-month maternity leave contract.

Reporting to the Controller, this role is part of the North American accounting team. The position will manage the monthly close and general ledger accounting, with responsibility for accounts payable (AP) and general ledger (GL) accounting for Paya Holdings. The ideal candidate takes ownership of their work, is self-motivated, and works effectively as a team player.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly close and general ledger accounting process
• Oversee AP and GL accounting, including fixed assets, payroll, commissions, and software capitalization
• Review journal entries, vendor invoices, account reconciliations, and financial statements
• Support monthly and quarterly flux analysis
• Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and that transactions are recorded timely and accurately in accordance with IFRS and established internal control requirements and procedures
• Coordinate with business units and corporate departments to ensure entries are recorded properly
• Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on automation around the financial close process
• Support implementation of a new ERP
• Assist with other ad-hoc projects as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA/CPA Candidate preferred
• 5+ years of accounting experience with corporate, or a mix of public and corporate experience
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to contribute to business success beyond the Finance & Accounting discipline
• Demonstrated ability in problem solving and process improvement
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Desire and ability to work as a team player with urgency and commitment to accuracy
