Accounting Manager

Overview

An organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join their finance team in a full-time, remote position based in the USA. This role is integral to strengthening and scaling the finance foundation by ensuring financial accuracy, operational rigor, and disciplined execution.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and coordination across U.S. and global teams
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses with strong attention to detail and documentation standards
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to US GAAP, identifying risks and recommending improvements
• Collaborate closely with FP&A and the CFO on reporting insights, forecast alignment, and financial analysis
• Support audit readiness and act as a key point of contact for external auditors
• Enhance accounting policies, procedures, and documentation to build a scalable and well-controlled environment
• Identify process gaps and implement practical, sustainable improvements in a lean-team setting
• Provide guidance and informal leadership to junior team members and contribute to a high-performing finance culture

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 or strong mid-tier public accounting background
• Active CPA license required
• Deep understanding of US GAAP and experience in well-controlled close environments
• Experience working in growing or evolving organizations where financial structure is still being developed
• Strong ownership mindset with initiative, sound judgment, and ability to operate independently
• Ability to balance detail orientation with understanding of broader financial impact and business context
• Clear and confident communication skills across cross-functional and international teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with distributed or offshore accounting teams
• Prior mentoring or informal leadership experience

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive base salary: $120,000 – $140,000 USD annually, depending on experience
