Accounting Manager – Fanatics Markets (US - Remote)

Overview

This role supports day-to-day accounting operations for a prediction markets platform and other emerging business lines. You will manage the month-end close process across multiple legal entities, prepare and review financial statements, and help ensure financial reporting is complete and accurate in a fast-moving, regulated environment.

You will partner across Finance, Shared Services, and Technical Accounting, and work closely with business stakeholders to ensure new developments are properly reflected in the financials. The position also owns regulatory reporting obligations, ensuring filings are accurate and submitted on time.

Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end close process across multiple legal entities, ensuring timely and accurate completion
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger analyses for completeness and accuracy
• Ensure transactions are properly recorded and allocated across legal entities in accordance with accounting and regulatory requirements
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS
• Own the regulatory reporting calendar, ensuring filings with the NFA, CFTC, and other governing bodies are accurate and submitted on time
• Stay current on regulatory developments and proactively assess their impact on reporting and accounting processes
• Support external audits and assist with statutory reporting and tax compliance
• Help maintain and strengthen internal controls, including SOX, across the business
• Partner with Finance on budgets and forecasts, providing accounting context and ensuring alignment between actuals and plan
• Work with business stakeholders to stay ahead of operational and product developments and ensure they are appropriately captured in the financials
• Collaborate with Shared Services on transactional accounting and with Technical Accounting on complex or non-routine transactions
• Identify and drive process improvements across accounting workflows to support accuracy, efficiency, and scale
• Support and develop team members to help build a high-performing accounting function

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
• CPA or equivalent strongly preferred
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated ownership of close processes and financial statement preparation
• Strong foundation in US GAAP; IFRS knowledge a plus
• Experience in financial markets, trading environments, or regulated industries (e.g., broker-dealer, exchange, commodities, gaming) strongly preferred
• Familiarity with NFA/CFTC regulations or similar regulatory frameworks is highly desirable
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; experience with financial systems and ERP platforms preferred
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple entities
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across finance, accounting, and business teams
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and proactively manage through ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or equivalent
• Knowledge of IFRS
• Experience with regulated industries and financial markets
• Familiarity with NFA/CFTC regulations

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $100,000 - $160,000 USD
