Accounting Services Associate IV - RTR Mandarin

Overview

This Accounting Services Associate IV (Senior) role oversees the Record to Report (RTR) process for the China region, ensuring efficiency and accuracy across financial transactions. The position requires RTR experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure process accuracy for bank transaction entries, including bank interest and bank charges.
• Perform daily cash flow budgeting.
• Maintain exchange rate information and support revaluation activities.
• Prepare closing reports, including ageing reports, bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, inventory reports, incentive reports, forex revaluation, and VAT reports.
• Prepare and maintain fixed assets registers and post fixed assets.
• Prepare and post various general accounting journal entries, including:
  • Payroll-related entries
  • Banking journal entries
  • Month-end inventory-related journals
  • Withholding tax entries (accruals or deferrals)
  • Prepayments for a variety of expenses based on company financial information during the period
• Perform reconciliations for general ledger accounts and related accounts as applicable (including bank accounts, prepaid expense accounts, tax accounts, and fixed asset accounts) to ensure posted information is accurate, timely, and valid.
• Maintain general ledger account master data.
• Perform month-end close and open period activities.
• Support year-end balance carry forward.
• Prepare monthly financial statements.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues.
• Update desktop procedures from time to time.
• Support customer billing and collections efforts, resolving complex issues.
• Provide backup support for junior staff and assist with junior inquiries by coaching and offering guidance.
• Understand entity processes and contribute to process improvement.
• Support audit activities.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting with RTR-relevant experience.
• At least 1 year of SAP experience.
• Chinese speaker is a must for client served (China entities).
• Communication skills in written and spoken Mandarin & English.
• Strong working knowledge of computer tools, including Excel advanced capabilities (Pivot, formula link, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, etc.) and Word.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines while producing quality output.
• Able to work under pressure during month-end close and provide ad-hoc support as required.
• Responsible, tactful, self-motivated, and able to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to MNC shared services environments, such as Asia Pacific countries.
• Experience with SAP system is an added advantage.
