This is a dual-level opportunity and may be filled at either the F or G level based on the candidate’s experience, capabilities, and readiness.

The organization is seeking candidates with strong learning agility, intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and a willingness to learn all facets of the pricing functions rather than specialize in a single area. As experience grows, responsibilities may expand to include coordinating work, supporting team capability, reinforcing quality standards, and improving team processes.

Responsibilities

  • Gather daily net asset value, dividend-per-share, and capital-gain-per-share information for nearly 8,000 mutual funds from approximately 300 mutual fund companies.
  • Use mutual fund pricing information to support approximately 930,000 unit value calculations each day the New York Stock Exchange is open.
  • Review pricing inputs and processes to help ensure the accuracy of each unit value calculation.
  • Calculate net asset values for approximately 81 fund-of-fund portfolios across three different NRS plans using the MFACT vendor package.
  • Work with the UVC system, the front-end financial operations system supporting the pricing function.
  • Assist with corporate action activities, including mutual fund name changes, mutual fund mergers, unit value calculations, and internal mapping structures.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by providing accurate information and documentation.
  • Develop working knowledge across all areas of the pricing function and contribute to process improvements and team initiatives.
  • Take ownership of assigned work, exercise sound judgment, and identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with partners across teams; positively influence and develop others without direct authority.
  • Coordinate assigned daily pricing activities and communicate priorities, coverage needs, and handoffs to help the team meet nightly deadlines.
  • Provide peer coaching, process guidance, and cross-training to help teammates build working knowledge across pricing activities and systems.
  • Maintain clear process documentation and communicate updates to affected partners to support consistent execution.
  • Partner with the manager and teammates to identify recurring issues and implement practical process improvements.
  • Build the business perspective and organizational knowledge needed to support future expanded responsibilities and leadership opportunities.

Work Schedule

  • Nightly pricing responsibilities typically continue until approximately 9:30 p.m. and may extend later depending on business needs.
  • The Pricing Accountant must be willing to work a rotating schedule to provide coverage for nightly pricing processes.
  • Certain market-open holidays also require nightly coverage.

Required Qualifications

  • FINRA Series 6 registration. Candidates who do not currently hold the designation must obtain it within one year of their hire date.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Access and Excel.
  • Knowledge of mutual funds and related pricing or valuation concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems, processes, and business concepts quickly.
  • Ability to take ownership, use sound judgment, meet deadlines, and deliver dependable results.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with mutual fund pricing, net asset value calculations, unit value calculations, financial operations, or related investment operations.
  • Experience working with financial systems, vendor applications, corporate actions, or audit requests.
  • Demonstrated interest in learning multiple areas of a function and expanding organizational knowledge.

  • Evidence of leadership potential and a desire to pursue future people leadership opportunities.
