Accounts Payable Associate

Overview

This role offers an opportunity to join a team focused on transforming natural compounds into life-changing medicines. The position is for an Accounts Payable (AP) Associate working remotely on a full-time, non-exempt basis with a salary range of $65,000 to $75,000.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for accuracy and proper authorization; match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Prepare and process electronic payments including ACH, wire transfers, and checks; monitor invoices to ensure timely disbursement
• Maintain vendor records, support vendor onboarding and banking coordination, and ensure compliance with required documentation
• Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and internal teams; address inquiries from stakeholders
• Assist with AP subledger reconciliation, accrual preparation, and period close reporting
• Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, and Budget Owners to resolve discrepancies and enforce AP policies
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax requirements, including 1099 reporting; support internal and external audits
• Support internal controls and participate in enhancements to AP workflows and automation as the finance function scales, including NetSuite implementation

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience with strong knowledge of invoice processing, vendor payment cycles, and AP internal controls
• Experience with ERP and procurement platforms, preferably NetSuite and/or Coupa; experience supporting AP during ERP implementations is a plus
• High attention to detail, strong follow-through, and ability to manage multiple deadlines independently
• Excellent communication skills, vendor service orientation, and a collaborative mindset across Finance and Procurement teams
• Experience in a high-growth biotech, pharmaceutical, or startup environment is preferred
• Commitment to continuous improvement, accuracy, accountability, and audit readiness

• Experience supporting AP during ERP implementations
• Background in biotech, pharma, or startup environments
