Overview
This is a full-time, temporary position for an Accounts Payable Specialist responsible for preparing and processing invoice vouchers for payment, handling invoice deduction notices, responding to vendor inquiries, and maintaining payment and transaction records including vendor and supplier data.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an effective control environment under SOX 404 for accounting operations, including key and non-key controls, updating control designs, and overseeing remediation activities if exceptions arise during testing.
- Review incoming invoices and documentation to ensure proper recording and authorization for payment.
- Ensure entered items have correct aliases and are coded according to procedures.
- Verify figures, postings, and documents for accuracy.
- Prepare invoice vouchers for payment and invoice deduction notices as needed.
- Generate all accounts payable payments weekly, including checks, EFT, E-Payables, and Quick Checks.
- Set up new vendors in the accounting system and keep vendor master file records updated.
- Identify and resolve problems promptly; review system reports and coordinate follow-up.
- Serve as liaison with other departments and vendors to ensure timely processing and quality assurance of disbursements.
- Prepare reports for month-end and year-end close, as well as special reports for management or internal customers.
- Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in Accounts Payable.
