Overview
An organization is seeking an Accounts Receivable Manager to lead the Accounts Receivable function, primarily overseeing customer invoicing and driving collections policies. This fully remote role involves managing a team of Accounts Receivable Associates to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Office Level
- Manage processes to ensure accurate information flow through project management software
- Resolve job-level collections and invoicing issues
- Prepare office-level invoicing and productivity reports
- Ensure timely invoicing of completed jobs and maintain control over draw schedules
- Participate in allowance for doubtful accounts meetings to identify opportunities for collecting aged balances and understand short-term cash inflows
- Build relationships with office management
Organization Level
- Manage internal controls related to invoicing and reduce Net Work In Progress (WIP)
- Lead and mentor a team of associates
- Collaborate with customers, adjusters, and team members to optimize collections
- Audit unusual invoicing requests and billing timing to ensure strong customer experience
- Improve transactional processing efficiency to reduce cost per transaction
- Develop compensation plans for collections-focused associates
- Maintain detailed awareness of large active jobs for timely draws and work stoppage decisions
- Assist with cash forecast inputs based on expected incoming payments
- Manage organizational reporting and key metrics
- Collaborate to manage aging receivables and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
- Perform other duties as business needs evolve
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in collections and invoicing
- Understanding of construction or insurance industries and related invoicing and collections nuances
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Tenacity in collecting owed funds
- Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and demonstrate urgency and follow-through
- Ability to recognize patterns and suspicious activity
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience managing and supervising team members
- Proficiency with key software applications
- Strong financial and operational acumen
- Well-organized and able to maximize effort
- Maintain confidentiality
- Fluent in oral and written English communication

Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field, or equivalent job-specific experience in:
- Construction or property restoration
- Accounting & finance
- Operational leadership or process improvement
- Project management
- Insurance (preferably property)
- Home services
- Customer experience
- Other relevant experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000 - $85,000 per year
