Accounts Receivable Specialist

Overview

An organization is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team. This role is responsible for credit and collections activities and will assist with billing, cash receipts, and other accounting tasks as needed.

This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside in Colorado or Ohio. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM MST.

Responsibilities

• Monitor accounts receivable (A/R) aging and customer accounts to minimize past due balances
• Perform customer credit analysis as needed
• Initiate collection communications via calls, emails, faxes, and letters
• Collaborate with Circulation and Advertising Managers on escalating collection actions
• Distribute A/R aging reports and discuss issues with Circulation and Advertising Managers
• Use and maintain A/R collections module within Circulation and Advertising systems
• Perform customer revenue and A/R trend analysis
• Take initiative to refine procedures, use tact and diplomacy in client servicing and communication, and demonstrate ethical behavior

Requirements

• Ability to analyze and resolve problems with some supervision
• Knowledge of accounting processes and controls
• Strong sense of urgency combined with attention to detail
• Proficiency in creating Excel spreadsheets using formulas and 10-key calculator skills
• Strong interpersonal, team collaboration, and customer service skills
• Experience with automated collections/accounts receivable/accounting systems preferred
• GED or high school diploma required; Associate's degree preferred

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly pay range: $16.00 - $17.75 or required city/county minimum wage
• Pay is based on factors including geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, and certifications
