Overview

A financial services organization is seeking a Bank Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to join during a pivotal growth phase. This role will be central to the formation and operational build-out of a newly forming bank, reporting directly to the Bank CFO. The position involves building and leading the strategic finance team, managing forecasting and budgeting, developing financial models, overseeing capital stress testing, and partnering cross-functionally to support financial workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the bank's strategic finance team, including recruitment, coaching, and providing strategic direction.
  • Lead the end-to-end forecasting and budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic planning, scenario analysis, and forecasting.
  • Oversee capital stress testing and ongoing monitoring; collaborate cross-functionally to validate inputs and ensure outputs reflect current business dynamics.
  • Monitor performance against forecasts, diagnose variances, identify root causes, and provide forward-looking insights.
  • Provide decision support on strategic initiatives by evaluating trade-offs and P&L implications; translate analyses into clear, executive-ready narratives.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to integrate financial workflows.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in analytical roles such as strategic finance, consulting, data science, or analytics with demonstrated impact on business outcomes.
  • At least 5 years of people management experience.
  • Proven ability to operate with ownership and influence in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and business judgment.
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling; working knowledge of modeling tools and experience with data visualization tools preferred.
  • Familiarity with fintech, lending, and payments business models is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay grade: M
  • Equity grade: USA 8
  • Base pay range for CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT: $185,000 - $245,000
  • Base pay range for all other U.S. states: $164,000 - $224,000
