Overview
A leading global crypto exchange is seeking a technical architect and builder to develop an AI-native finance operating system. This role involves deploying production automation and redesigning finance architecture to scale operations across accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, and finance operations in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess and map current finance operations including close, reconciliations, treasury, reporting, controls validation, and audit preparation.
- Identify capability gaps, manual bottlenecks, and integration failure points across systems such as NetSuite, BlackLine, Kyriba, Fireblocks, and Lukka.
- Benchmark operations against best practices and emerging AI capabilities to build a prioritized finance automation roadmap.
- Collaborate with accounting, FP&A, treasury, and finance operations teams to translate process pain points into automation requirements.
- Architect a long-term AI-native finance operating system, defining interactions between agentic systems, financial infrastructure, data pipelines, and control frameworks.
- Evaluate and simplify the existing finance systems stack, reducing manual intervention and defining a scalable target architecture.
- Build an agentic finance layer alongside the existing stack to automate workflows and plan migration toward AI-native architecture.
- Deploy production-grade agentic workflows automating reconciliations, close processes, audit and reporting preparation, treasury monitoring, financial analytics, and controls validation.
- Utilize modern AI tooling including Claude and Anthropic APIs, Python orchestration, n8n or equivalent workflow engines, and MCP or similar agent coordination layers.
- Integrate internal and external systems via APIs and data sources into unified automated workflows.
- Maintain human oversight where appropriate, ensuring auditability and control integrity.
- Establish AI governance guardrails for automation in a SOX-regulated financial environment, defining control maintenance and redesign.
- Develop frameworks for data classification, auditability, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, failure detection, rollback mechanisms, regulatory compliance, and audit-ready documentation.
- Classify automation builds by risk tier and ensure all production builds have a named Process Owner, documented data flows, access controls, and audit logging.
- Represent finance domain in cross-functional automation governance and standards.
- Create reusable frameworks, workflow templates, and documentation to enable future finance team members to build safely on the platform.
- Train finance professionals on AI-assisted tools and workflows to drive adoption and operational independence.
- Develop metrics, dashboards, and performance frameworks to measure efficiency gains, cost reduction, risk outcomes, and ROI.
- Provide leadership reporting on operational improvements, risk posture, and the finance platform roadmap.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing, deploying, and scaling agentic AI systems in production environments.
- Deep understanding of LLM orchestration, multi-agent system design, and failure modes of autonomous AI workflows in high-stakes environments.
- Strong systems architecture skills from discovery through deployment and optimization.
- Hands-on proficiency with AI automation tools such as Claude/Anthropic APIs, Python orchestration, n8n or equivalent workflow engines, MCP or similar coordination layers.
- Strong domain knowledge of finance operations including close processes, reconciliations, treasury, financial reporting, and controls in regulated environments.
- Experience deploying automation in SOX-regulated or equivalent compliance environments, with understanding of control preservation and audit integrity.
- Ability to translate finance and business requirements into technical roadmaps and scalable solutions.
- Excellent communication skills to bridge finance, technical, and business teams and influence senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with high ownership and execution bias.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with finance systems such as NetSuite, BlackLine, Kyriba, Fireblocks, or Lukka.
- Background as Head of Product, Head of Engineering at AI-native companies, AI systems architect, or early engineer/founder at agentic infrastructure companies.
