AP/AR Specialist

Overview

AP/AR Specialist – 100% Remote (East Coast candidates only)

Salary: $70,000 - $85,000+ depending on experience

This role involves managing day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, improving workflows, and bringing structure to a fast-paced environment. The position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to operate independently in ambiguous situations.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage accounts payable, including vendor invoice entry, coding, and payment execution
• Coordinate with a China-based team to ensure accurate and timely invoice handling
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Apply cash and reconcile customer payments
• Track, research, and resolve customer deductions such as short pays and chargebacks
• Maintain accurate accounts receivable aging and support collections efforts as needed
• Assist in sales recording processes, including invoice retrieval and uploading financial data into QuickBooks
• Identify and resolve inconsistencies in source data
• Identify inefficiencies and implement improved workflows across AR/AP functions
• Help build scalable processes in a growing and evolving environment
• Support ad hoc reporting and data cleanup as needed
• Collaborate closely with the Controller and CFO to ensure accurate and timely financial operations
• Communicate effectively across teams to resolve issues and improve workflows

Requirements

• 3 to 7+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or a combined role
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
• Proficient in Excel, comfortable cleaning and structuring messy data
• Experience in consumer, retail, or high-volume transactional environments is a plus
• Ability to balance speed and accuracy
• Comfortable working with incomplete or imperfect data
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work without step-by-step guidance
• Self-starter capable of operating independently in a remote setting

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $70,000 to $85,000+ depending on experience
• 100% remote position
