Overview
A remote, full-time Bilingual Bookkeeper position is available for candidates residing in Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, or Montana. Fluency in Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking) is required.
This role involves providing bookkeeping and accounting support primarily to churches and ministries, ensuring accurate financial reporting and client communication.
Responsibilities
- Clock in and out daily via Slack and respond accurately to workflow questions.
- Use Clockify daily to track time worked on each client account with appropriate tags.
- Follow and adhere to established bookkeeping workflows.
- Maintain and update all client information in the administrative console, including reminders, contact information, notes, and QuickBooks data.
- Onboard new clients and engage them effectively in the bookkeeping service.
- Apply accounting principles to generate accurate and factual financial reports for clients.
- Manage a workload of 30-40 clients or 160-170 bookkeeping hours per month; workload may vary with additional responsibilities.
- Submit renewal information accurately and on time.
- Deliver client reports punctually and maintain high-quality service to prevent cancellations.
- Mitigate cancellations and service failures; more than two service failure cancellations within six months may result in a performance improvement plan.
- Ensure 65% of clients receive reports within the first 7 business days and 85% within 14 business days each month.
- Provide meaningful monthly touchpoints with all clients; call clients biweekly if they have 3 or more months of ineligible or partial reports.
- Contact all clients at least every 60 days.
- Maintain report error rates below 12% monthly.
- Answer phone calls when supporting the care team.
- Submit payroll on time and accurately.
- Maintain email inbox and respond to all emails and voicemails within 24 hours.
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with clients to foster strong relationships.
- Attend all meetings with cameras on and actively engage in discussions.
- Report all time off requests in Slack and obtain approval prior to taking time off.
- Coordinate with directors to ensure work is delivered on time during absences.
- Complete all assigned work within a 40-hour workweek unless overtime is pre-approved.
Requirements
- Must reside in Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, or Montana.
- Must read, write, and speak Spanish fluently.
- Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience.
- Experience as a bilingual bookkeeper.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks is required; certification preferred.
- Experience with cash basis accounting is preferred.
- Ability to follow detailed workflows and maintain high accuracy.
- Strong communication skills and dependability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Xero accounting software.
