Billing Specialist

Overview

A legal industry client is seeking a Billing Specialist to support the Finance team with billing operations, reporting, expense management, and travel administration. This contract role is for 3 months with potential to convert and is remote, open only to candidates located in Arizona or on the West Coast.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end billing cycle including invoice preparation, delivery, and reporting
• Create, maintain, and distribute billing and management reports using Excel, Tableau, SAP BI, and other tools
• Review billing activity to identify discrepancies and resolve exceptions
• Identify missed revenue opportunities and collaborate with Finance to improve billing accuracy and efficiency
• Maintain billing and reporting calendars on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
• Support corporate expense and travel programs, including administration of AMEX, Emburse, and corporate cards
• Assist employees with inquiries related to travel, expenses, and corporate cards
• Partner with Finance, Payroll, HR, Procurement, IT, and other departments to support operational excellence
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects
• Perform additional finance and billing duties as assigned

Requirements

• Previous experience in billing, accounting, finance operations, or a related field
• Strong proficiency with Excel and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or SAP BI
• Experience in the legal industry is required
• Familiarity with billing, financial, expense, or travel management systems
• Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
• Resourceful problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly rate: $25-$28, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications
