Overview

This associate-level Bookkeeper role supports a consulting environment spanning business consulting operations, marketing, communications, customer engagement, events, operations, and professional support. The practical objective is to maintain accurate financial records through reconciliation and exception handling.

Work should be traceable and audit-ready—showing the source used, what changed, what remains open, and who owns the next action.

Responsibilities

  • Protect confidential account information while ensuring traceability within business consulting operations, marketing, communications, customer engagement, events, operations, and professional support.
  • Review financial inputs against supporting records; maintain traceable evidence for what is reviewed and any outcomes.
  • Reconcile discrepancies before reporting or processing.
  • Track unresolved financial exceptions and ensure exceptions are moved to the appropriate authorized owner for follow-up.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation that allows another authorized teammate to verify work status without reconstructing history.

Success Standard

Success means financial records, reconciliation, and exception handling remain usable under the demands of business consulting operations, marketing, communications, customer engagement, events, operations, and professional support. Repeated errors should become visible, exceptions should have owners, and another authorized teammate should be able to verify the state of the work using the existing documentation.

Requirements

  • Experience and comfort with invoice review and audit support.
  • Ability to maintain accurate financial records, including record maintenance and document review.
  • Proficiency in payment tracking and spreadsheet analysis.
  • Strong data accuracy and variance analysis skills.
  • Capacity to clearly document account review decisions and the reasoning behind them.
  • Demonstrated confidentiality judgment, especially when issues require escalation rather than assumption.
  • Ability to manage approvals and deadlines while reconciling and resolving exceptions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bookkeeper-focused documentation and financial reporting experience.
  • Account review experience and ability to support financial reporting needs.
