Overview
An organization is seeking an experienced Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, supervise the team, and serve as the primary point of contact for clients. This fully remote, permanent role involves preparing and reviewing complex accounting work and managing the function to enable senior leadership to focus on business development and division growth. The position offers significant opportunities for internal mobility and career advancement, along with hands-on exposure to process improvements, internal controls, system implementations, and end-to-end accounting operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash flow management, and payroll processing.
- Complete write-ups such as bank and credit card reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, payroll postings, and GAAP-based general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare multi-state payroll and sales tax returns; experience with web-based filing is a plus.
- Prepare internal financial reports for management review.
- Assist with workers’ compensation and other insurance audits as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Certified Bookkeeper certification required.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online is mandatory.
- Familiarity with innovative, web-based services and ability to quickly learn new programs (e.g., Rippling, Bill.com, Expensify, Canopy).
- Working knowledge of office-based programs such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Zoom.
- 8 to 15 years of experience in a Client Accounting/Bookkeeping division of a CPA firm or law firm.
