Controller / Project Controller

Overview

The organization is strengthening its finance team and is seeking a Controller to take on a key operational role within an international group of companies. This position combines controlling, invoicing, order backlog monitoring, and project financial management, working closely with operational and project teams. You will have independent responsibility for your own group companies while contributing to day-to-day finance operations and the further development of the finance function.

Responsibilities

Project and Financial Controlling

• Manage invoicing and follow up on customers and accounts receivable
• Monitor projects, contracts, purchase orders, and order backlog
• Perform controlling of accounts, including basis for CapEX, accrual/deferral, month-end, and more
• Prepare reports, analyses, and forecasts
• Analyze project margins, profitability, and resource utilization
• Support Project Managers and Delivery Managers with financial insights and project follow-up
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes
• Act as the main point of contact for external accounting providers
• Support audits and year-end closing activities

Systems and Processes

• Serve as a super user and administrator for the company’s project management and time registration systems
• Drive continuous improvement of reporting, financial processes, and internal controls
• Ensure high-quality financial documentation and effective routines

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in controlling, financial management, or project finance
• Strong understanding of accounting, project finance, reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Experience with ERP and project management systems
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent written and spoken Norwegian and English
