Controller

Overview

A growing mission-driven healthcare organization focused on preventing heart disease through root-cause medicine, patient education, and innovative care delivery is seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Controller. This senior strategic role requires someone who can balance high-level financial planning with hands-on operational and financial problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial projections and cash flow
• Lead budgeting and financial planning efforts
• Conduct financial and ROI analysis
• Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Analyze revenue and expenses
• Provide operational finance support
• Oversee accounting processes and internal controls
• Collaborate closely with leadership on strategic decision-making
• Enhance financial visibility, accountability, and reporting cadence
• Support sustainable growth and operational efficiency
• Manage the entire accounting function including bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reporting

Requirements

• Strong financial and operational acumen
• Experience in healthcare, direct-pay healthcare, subscription/membership models, or entrepreneurial businesses preferred
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, founder-led environment
• Calm under pressure and solution-oriented
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with operations, sales, marketing, and leadership teams
• Experience with multi-entity and intercompany accounting including consolidations, eliminations, and intercompany transactions
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll and compliance
• No ego and a mindset against bureaucracy
• Ability to manage all aspects of the accounting cycle

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA preferred but not required
• Prior Controller or CFO experience required
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, forecasting, and operational finance
• Experience with remote teams and modern cloud-based systems
• Proficiency in completing all necessary bookkeeping functions
• Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred
• Experience in small or start-up business environments
• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online, Fathom, and Gusto is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

• Full-time W2 position
• Fully remote
• Competitive salary range: $108,000 - $125,000 per year, based on experience and capabilities
