CPA FAR Tutor

Overview

This role involves tutoring students preparing for the CPA FAR (Financial Accounting and Reporting) section through a live online learning platform. Tutors have the flexibility to set their own schedules, work remotely, and earn competitive pay rates while helping students improve their understanding and academic success.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one online tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs.
• Accept instant tutoring requests on-demand when available.
• Use the platform's AI-powered tools to enhance instructional support, generate lessons, and engage students.
• Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and student challenges.
• Guide students through complex CPA FAR topics including journal entries, financial statement preparation, task-based simulations, and application of accounting standards.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of CPA FAR content, including but not limited to:
  • Financial statements
  • Revenue recognition under ASC 606
  • Leases under ASC 842
  • Consolidations
  • Government and nonprofit accounting
  • Inventory, fixed assets, bonds, and stockholders equity
  • GAAP framework and SEC reporting requirements
• Ability to explain and teach authoritative codification research tools and multi-step transactional scenarios.
• Familiarity with the CPA FAR content blueprint and common student challenges.
• Experience using CPA review course materials and practice task-based simulations.
• Strong communication skills with a friendly and engaging teaching style.
• Ability to identify difficult concepts and explain them using multiple approaches.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience preparing candidates for the FAR section of the CPA examination.
• Ability to provide strategic test-taking and problem-solving guidance.
