Overview
This role supports end-to-end credit risk management for large and complex users, providing data-driven underwriting decisions across the user lifecycle—from onboarding through loss recovery. The Credit team’s work enables business growth by making confident, calibrated decisions for the highest-exposure accounts.
This position is assigned to West Coast hours, with a strong preference for candidates in the Pacific time zone.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with top merchants, from venture-backed startups to well-established institutions, to evaluate business models and financial statements
- Provide tailored credit risk recommendations that mitigate exposure while facilitating merchant growth
- Manage a portfolio by developing deep understanding of risk across industries, geographies, and operating models
- Deliver insights to support senior management decisions, including onboarding strategies and merchant pricing analysis
- Support refinement of tools and processes to help the team deliver on key performance indicators (e.g., credit loss targets, portfolio coverage metrics)
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support merchants around the world
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience with knowledge of commercial credit underwriting, financial risk modeling, and cash flow forecasting
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or other related fields
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and comfort evaluating financial statements and business models across a range of industries
- Ability to transform business and financial data into cohesive narratives that outline potential credit risks and present dynamic mitigation strategies
- Strong written, verbal, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail while managing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to comfortably interact with the CFOs and CEOs of top merchants
- Deep empathy for entrepreneurs running a business, with motivation to solve problems to empower them
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated technical expertise, including SQL
- Strong data visualization skills and a passion for data and analysis
- Experience working in tech or other fast-paced, high-growth environments
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual US base salary range: $121,600 - $182,400
- For sales roles, the stated range is the role’s On Target Earnings (OTE) range, which includes both sales commissions/bonuses target and annual base salary for the role
- Salary range may include several career levels and will be narrowed during the interview process based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location
- Applicants not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process

Location
Hybrid work is available either in an office or remotely (35+ miles or 56+ km from a local office).
- In-office expectations: Spend at least 50% of time in the local office (or with users) each month
- Remote expectations: A remote location is 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of the offices. Regular work from home is expected rather than a local office.
