Overview
This role is responsible for revenue accounting across technology and lending revenue, including the related balance sheet accounts for loans, receivables, and reserves. The Director, Revenue Accounting owns core month-end close processes, builds scalable accounting infrastructure, and partners cross-functionally to support a rapidly growing platform. Responsibilities

- Oversee accounting for loan origination, servicing, and sales, as well as technology and platform revenue, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Own the balance sheet accounts tied to revenue—loans, accounts receivable, and reserves—ensuring balances are accurately valued, reconciled, and supported.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial statement reporting; maintain audit-ready documentation for revenue and related balance sheet positions at every close.
- Design scalable accounting frameworks and policies aligned with a growing business.
- Partner with Technical Accounting to establish and maintain revenue recognition policies and controls that hold up under audit and regulatory scrutiny.
- Support new product launches by evaluating the accounting lifecycle from day one so downstream processes are clean and defensible.
- Identify risks and opportunities within the accounting infrastructure early and develop roadmaps to address them.
- Serve as the primary accounting liaison to Product and Engineering for new product launches, assessing accounting implications from inception and ensuring accurate ledger treatment of revenue from day one.
- Manage and grow a high-performing accounting team (including the loan accounting function), setting clear expectations and performance standards.
- Use large, complex data sets to investigate and resolve reconciliation variances across revenue and related balance sheet accounts; drive root-cause analysis and long-term solutions.
- Partner with the Director of Internal Controls on design, documentation, and ongoing monitoring of SOX controls across revenue accounting processes to ensure control effectiveness and audit readiness.

- Demonstrated experience designing and improving accounting systems and workflows.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to work through large data sets to resolve complex reconciliation variances.

- Experience with SOX compliance, including maintaining controls in a public company or pre-IPO environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of reporting financial status and risk clearly to Controllers, CFO, or equivalent leadership.
- Experience collaborating directly with Product and Engineering teams and translating accounting requirements into system and operational design.
- Adhere to all organizational security policies and data handling procedures.
