Overview

This role is responsible for owning Adaptive Planning, the company planning platform. You will serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert, supporting the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), budget, and forecast cycles through model administration, integrations, security, and reporting. You will also support headcount planning and personnel cost forecasting.

You will collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, IT, and business partners to keep planning data accurate, convert business needs into scalable solutions, and reduce manual effort so the Finance team can focus on analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Own Adaptive Planning administration: Maintain and improve model architecture, including dimensions, levels, attributes, versions, sheets, formulas, and calculated accounts.
  • Run planning cycles: Manage AOP, budget, forecast, and actuals versions, including rollovers, planning calendars, and period locks to ensure cycles run on time with clean data.
  • Build and maintain integrations and data loads: Implement and maintain data loads between Adaptive and source systems such as ERP, HRIS, CRM, and data warehouse. Audit and reconcile data so planning aligns with Accounting records.
  • Manage security and access: Own user roles, permissions, and licenses, ensuring access aligns with data privacy and internal control requirements.
  • Build and maintain reporting: Create management reporting packages, dashboards, scorecards, and OfficeConnect reports providing visibility into plan, forecast, and actuals.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable solutions: Partner with FP&A, Accounting, and IT to design, test, and deploy model changes following change management and testing procedures.
  • Train and support users: Support budget owners, business partners, and FP&A team members. Write and maintain documentation so teams can use the platform effectively.
  • Automate and improve accuracy: Apply automation and AI-enabled tools to reduce manual work and improve accuracy. Review new Adaptive features and recommend adoption when appropriate.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate: Investigate system issues, resolve items internally when possible, and coordinate with Workday support and outside consultants as needed.
  • Support headcount and personnel cost forecasting: Manage company-wide headcount roll-forward from actuals through plan, including requisition-level detail, hiring assumptions, and personnel cost lines (salary, bonus, commission, benefits, taxes, and contractor spend).
  • Lead headcount reconciliation and reporting: Reconcile headcount and cost across HRIS, payroll, ERP, and Adaptive at each close. Model scenarios for leadership, support budget and forecasts, and support the long-range plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of Adaptive Planning administration and model-building experience, preferably at a SaaS or technology company.
  • Hands-on experience with Adaptive reporting tools, dashboards, and OfficeConnect.
  • Solid FP&A knowledge, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
  • Experience forecasting headcount and personnel costs, including working with HRIS and payroll data.
  • Experience building and troubleshooting integrations and data loads between Adaptive and ERP or other source systems.
  • Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets, solve problems, and translate business needs into system and process solutions.
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to work with Finance and non-Finance teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and data integrity.

Preferred Qualifications
