Overview
The organization is seeking a Project Manager to join the Finance department and own internal initiatives that help finance scale. This role focuses on process optimization, reporting automation, integration of new providers, and coordination between Finance and other functions across the organization.
This position is designed for someone who goes beyond tracking tasks and scheduling meetings—digging into complex processes, identifying what’s broken, proposing improvements, and driving changes through to measurable outcomes. Many processes will require building from scratch.
Responsibilities
-
Project ownership (end to end): Lead finance initiatives from idea to result, including scoping, planning, identifying stakeholders, defining timelines, and ensuring delivery.
-
Provider and system integrations: Drive the integration of new providers and systems into finance workflows in partnership with Product, Engineering, Payments, and Accounting.
-
Dependency and timeline management: Maintain project timelines and actively manage cross-department dependencies so projects land on committed dates.
-
Executive communication: Provide clear updates on project status, risks, and results to department heads and senior leadership.
-
Process improvement and reliability:
- Map existing finance and accounting processes to find bottlenecks and manual work.
- Prioritize the highest-impact fixes.
- Automate financial reporting to reduce the time and effort required to produce reliable numbers.
- Build new processes from scratch where needed, keeping them lean and practical.
- Standardize how Finance works with other teams, including requests, handoffs, approvals, and ownership.
-
Proactive problem solving and ownership of outcomes:
- Identify issues in processes and data before they escalate; determine root causes and deliver solutions.
- Interpret stakeholder requests to understand underlying business needs.
- Take responsibility for outcomes rather than passing tasks between colleagues.
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years in project management, ideally in Finance or Operations.
- Finance understanding: Solid understanding of finance and accounting processes.
- Hands-on delivery: Proven experience with process automation, process optimization, and system integrations.
- Cross-functional alignment: Experience working across multiple departments and aligning stakeholders you do not directly manage.
- Independent ownership: Track record of running projects independently from idea to result (able to explain a project you owned and the impact it created).
- Ownership and proactivity: Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive outcomes without waiting for instructions.
- Communication: Confident written and spoken English with clear communication to senior leaders.
- Execution style: Strong attention to detail with a systematic approach, balanced with pragmatism and minimal bureaucracy.
- Working environment: Comfortable with high pace, high workload, uncertainty, and shifting priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Business Operations or Finance Operations roles.
- Experience in crypto, fintech, payments, or another fast-growing digital business.
- Experience integrating payment or financial service providers.
- Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment where processes were built from scratch.
Compensation & Benefits
- Professional growth: Support for courses, conferences, and English learning (up to 100% coverage).
- Work-life fit: Remote or hybrid format with flexible hours across international teams.
- Paid leave: Up to 20 vacation days + 8 company holidays + 5 personal days per year.
- Recognition programs: Structured performance reviews and team awards.
