Overview

This organization is seeking a Project Manager to join its Finance department and own internal projects that help the finance function scale. The role focuses on process optimization, reporting automation, new provider integrations, and coordination between finance and other teams.

This is not a task-tracking or meeting-only role. The ideal candidate can analyze complex processes, identify what’s broken, propose improvements, and drive changes through to measurable results. Many processes will need to be built from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Own finance initiatives end to end

    • Lead internal finance projects from idea to delivery: define scope, plan work, manage stakeholders, set timelines, and ensure outcomes.
    • Drive integration of new providers and systems into finance workflows, working with product, engineering, payments, and accounting.
    • Maintain project timelines and manage cross-department dependencies to deliver on committed dates.
    • Provide clear communication of status, risks, and results to department heads and senior leadership.
  • Improve and automate finance processes

    • Map existing finance and accounting processes to identify bottlenecks and manual work; prioritize fixes.
    • Automate financial reporting to reduce time and effort required to produce reliable numbers.
    • Build new processes from scratch where needed, keeping them lean and practical.
    • Standardize finance workflows with other teams, including requests, handoffs, approvals, and ownership.
  • Proactively find and resolve operational problems

    • Identify issues in processes and data, determine root causes, and deliver solutions—not just raise tickets.
    • Interpret stakeholder requests to understand the underlying business needs.
    • Take responsibility for outcomes rather than passing tasks between colleagues.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in project management, ideally in Finance or Operations.
  • Solid understanding of finance and accounting processes.
  • Hands-on experience with process automation, process optimization, and system integrations.
  • Experience working across multiple departments and aligning stakeholders you don’t manage.
  • Demonstrated ability to run projects independently from idea to result.
  • Strong ownership and proactivity, including taking responsibility for outcomes without waiting for instructions.
  • Confident communication with senior leaders.
  • Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach, balanced with pragmatism and minimal bureaucracy.
  • Ability to work effectively with high pace, large workload, uncertainty, and shifting priorities.
  • Strong English skills (written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Business Operations or Finance Operations.
  • Experience in crypto, fintech, payments, or another fast-growing digital business.
  • Experience integrating payment or financial service providers.
  • Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment where processes were built from scratch.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Professional growth support for courses, conferences, and English learning (up to 100% coverage).
  • Work-life fit: remote or hybrid format with flexible hours across international teams.
  • Paid leave: up to 20 vacation days + 8 company holidays + 5 personal days per year.
  • Recognition programs: structured performance reviews and team awards.
  • Team culture: retreats in international locations (for example, company apartments in Cyprus).

Location
