Overview

This full-time, entry-level remote role is for a Financial Analyst serving stakeholders located in the United States.

The position focuses on organizing financial information into clear views of actual performance, expected results, and the factors driving differences between plans and outcomes. Accuracy and clear communication are essential throughout the work.

You may work across financial statements, spreadsheet schedules, operating metrics, and forecast assumptions within the same week. Calculations should be checked, assumptions clearly documented, and conclusions presented in a way that supports decisions.

Financial models and schedules should remain understandable after the immediate task is complete, with clear labels, documented assumptions, reasonable checks, and organized formulas to support review and reduce the risk of unnoticed errors during future updates.

Responsibilities

  • Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
  • Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
  • Help improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.

Variance analysis should go beyond stating that a number is higher or lower. Where the information allows, identify operational or financial drivers behind movement and explain whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.

Requirements

  • Comfort learning company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Clear written communication, including the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
  • Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
  • Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
  • Good judgment when financial information is incomplete or inconsistent, including the ability to investigate the source, document limitations, and avoid presenting uncertain results as more precise than they are.
