Overview
The Principal Financial Analyst will serve as the lead financial analyst supporting the Enterprise Payments (EP) organization. This team manages all payment rails across the ecosystem, including debit, ACH, checks, wires, and more. The role supports the Operations, Strategy, and Governance teams responsible for evolving these payment rails. The position involves a combination of routine financial management of a budget with fixed and variable expenses and providing strategic guidance to influence business cases and address risks and opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Develop the Annual Budget, Monthly Financial Forecast, and Long-Term Financial Plan
- Build financial models and conduct analyses to support business growth and strategic initiatives
- Monitor performance indicators, identify trends, and analyze causes of unexpected variances
- Analyze complex financial data and reports to provide accurate and timely recommendations for management decision-making
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and analysis
- Identify industry trends and insights related to competitors' strategies and financial performance, including peer benchmarking
- Perform ad hoc analyses using data from internal financial systems and external market databases, presenting insights clearly and concisely
- Collaborate closely with business leads to identify opportunities and processes for driving efficiencies
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or military experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, or a related combination
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Finance
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
- At least 5 years of experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, or a related combination
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in strategic analysis and planning
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary ranges by location:
- McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 annually
- Richmond, VA: $109,900 - $125,400 annually
- Candidates working in other locations will have salary ranges applicable to those locations
- Eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives
