Financial Analyst

Overview

This role involves providing dependable financial analysis to support planning and informed decision-making. You will maintain reports, compare actual performance against expectations, and help communicate key performance drivers.

Responsibilities

• Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
• Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so work remains understandable and reusable.
• Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
• Help improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
• Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
• Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, and explain meaningful variances.

Requirements

• Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
• Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
• Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
• Clear written communication and the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
• Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
• Familiarity with forecasting uncertainty and the importance of keeping assumptions visible rather than hidden inside calculations.
• Ability to exercise good judgment when financial information is incomplete or inconsistent, including investigating sources, documenting limitations, and avoiding presenting uncertain results as more precise than they are.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $72,000-$80,000 per year
