Overview

This role involves joining a Strategic Finance team as an analyst and supporting one of the organization’s business areas with analytical modeling and reporting. You will work closely with a senior team member, build the models and reporting business partners rely on, and collaborate with functional leaders and the executive team.

The team is organized across go-to-market finance, corporate finance, and functional business partnering. As the organization scales, this team is adding two people, so you will own meaningful scope early and your work will be visible to executive leadership.

Location

Remote work from home is available if you are located in the USA and reside in one of the following states: CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, *IL, KS, ME, MA, MD, NJ, NC, NY, OH, OR, TN, TX, VA, & WA.

This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

Due to operational policies, hiring for this role within the city limits of Chicago is not available. Qualified candidates who reside outside of the city proper or who are willing to self-relocate will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the models that drive planning for your area, including headcount, capacity, and spend.
  • Own recurring reporting and monthly variance analysis, and write the first draft of the narrative behind the numbers.
  • Partner with the business on spend tracking and review, flagging issues before they are noticed elsewhere.
  • Build the metrics and dashboards used to evaluate whether a function is becoming more efficient.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis for the executive team as needed.
  • Other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Roughly 1 to 3 years in FP&A, business finance, consulting, banking, data analysis, or a comparable analytical role.
  • Strong Excel skills and solid financial fundamentals, including the instinct to sanity-check your own output.
  • Clear written communication and the ability to explain numbers to people who do not work in finance.
  • High learning velocity (“high slope”) and readiness to grow into the role you will be in two years.
  • Familiarity with automating repeatable tasks; experience with AI tools, BI tools, or SQL is a plus (support will be provided if you have the instinct but not the tools).
  • Meaningful overlap with Pacific time, as the team is on the West Coast.
  • Open to occasional travel for team and company onsite visits.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting pay depends on factors including location, market demands, experience, job-related knowledge, and skills.

Benefits include:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) plan
  • Life insurance coverage
  • PTO (unlimited PTO)

Base salary hiring range (plus an equity grant):

  • Roles based in California, Colorado, Maryland, New Jersey, or Washington: $80,000 to $110,000 per year
  • Roles based in New York: $80,000 to $110,000 per year
