Financial Controller

Overview

Position Title: Financial Controller

Compensation: $120,000-$145,000 base salary plus performance-based bonus

Location: Remote

This role involves leading the accounting function for a private investment firm specializing in the acquisition and repositioning of manufactured housing communities across the United States. The firm manages approximately 1,800 manufactured housing lots and $140 million in assets under management, with ongoing growth through acquisitions and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes in accordance with GAAP
• Oversee financial reporting across multiple entities and investment funds
• Ensure accurate investor distributions and financial reporting
• Build scalable accounting processes and implement strong internal controls
• Collaborate with acquisitions, operations, and executive leadership to provide financial insights supporting strategic decisions
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals
• Continuously improve systems and workflows to support portfolio growth

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
• Experience in real estate or property management accounting
• Strong knowledge of GAAP multi-entity accounting
• Proven experience leading accounting teams
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
• Experience with property management accounting systems such as Rent Manager
• Background in process improvement and accounting system optimization
• Familiarity with real estate investment structures

Compensation & Benefits

Location
