Financial Controller

Overview

A growing organization in the advertising measurement sector is seeking a highly motivated Controller to join their Finance team. This role involves managing financial operations with a focus on billing, invoicing, and financial reporting processes. Proficiency in QuickBooks and strong attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process and ensure accurate financial reporting
• Prepare financial reports and analyses for executive review
• Provide insights into financial performance, trends, and key business metrics
• Monitor financial KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement
• Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Support a strong financial control environment through accurate processes and documentation
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align financial goals with business objectives
• Support cash flow planning and monitoring to ensure financial stability
• Identify opportunities to improve working capital management and operational efficiency
• Coordinate financial audits and support audit preparation
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
• Address audit findings and implement process improvements
• Manage end-to-end billing and invoicing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Generate and review invoices while maintaining accurate customer account records
• Oversee billing inquiries, disputes, and resolution processes
• Manage collections efforts for past-due accounts and support cash flow optimization
• Implement and maintain scalable billing processes and systems
• Support the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts
• Assist in forecasting financial outcomes and business performance
• Provide variance analysis and recommendations
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and results-driven work environment

• Partner effectively across teams to solve problems and drive operational excellence

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar role
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly organized with keen attention to detail
• Proactive problem solver who brings new ideas
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks under deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or CMA certification
• Experience in the digital media industry
• Prior experience working in startups and supporting team expansion

• Base salary range: $100,000 - $125,000 USD per year
