Financial Controller

Overview

This role is for a Fractional Financial Controller who will support rapidly growing businesses by providing meticulous, scalable execution and operational finance expertise. The position involves helping companies optimize cash flow, build audit-ready processes, ensure compliance, and produce timely, accurate financial reports.

This opportunity suits senior finance leaders with experience as Controllers, VPs of Finance, or Directors of Accounting in high-growth companies, private equity-backed ventures, or global organizations. Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Implement and optimize financial and accounting systems such as ERP, general ledger, and reporting tools.
• Oversee cash management, treasury functions, and day-to-day operational finance activities.
• Develop and monitor internal controls and compliance initiatives at local, state, and international levels.
• Prepare high-quality financial statements, management reports, and key performance indicators for CEOs, Boards, and leadership teams.
• Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasting processes in collaboration with operational leaders.
• Manage external audit preparation and serve as the primary liaison with external tax and audit partners.

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience as a Controller, VP of Finance, or senior accounting leader.
• Expertise in GAAP/IFRS reporting, internal controls, and scaling operational accounting functions.
• Strong background in implementing and optimizing financial systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or SAP.
• Demonstrated ability to produce reliable financial statements and management reports for executive consumption.
• Experience with operational finance in high-growth sectors such as SaaS, E-commerce, healthcare, or manufacturing is a plus.
• CPA certification is highly valued; MBA or other advanced financial certifications are a plus.
• Comfortable working in flexible, remote, or evolving organizational environments.
