Overview

This role is for a Finance Accountant (m/f/d) seeking a new professional challenge beyond traditional bookkeeping. The organization is a leading provider of state-funded online self-study courses in Germany, specializing in finance-related education. The position involves leveraging your finance expertise to develop and manage digital learning products rather than performing routine accounting tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of three digital courses covering Corporate Accounting & Financial Management, Practical Financial Accounting, and Financial Accounting with DATEV.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of course content, keep materials up to date, and continuously develop the offerings.
  • Design practical exercises and learning paths that simulate real-world professional scenarios, building skills step-by-step using current finance tools.
  • Monitor key course metrics such as learner satisfaction, success rates, and content relevance; proactively address any issues.
  • Identify gaps in course content due to outdated sources, changes in DATEV versions, or new regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize modern, AI-supported tools to efficiently create high-quality content while serving as the subject matter expert responsible for content accuracy.
  • Manage and coordinate external subject matter experts, reviewing and approving their contributions.
  • Occasionally conduct live sessions such as webinars and Q&A to engage with learners.
  • Keep abreast of certifications, tools, examination regulations, and competitor offerings.
  • Collaborate closely with teams in Product Operations, Media Design, Editorial, and Learning Design.

What This Role Is Not

  • This is not a traditional teaching or lecturing position.
  • You will not be responsible for writing texts, video editing, or graphic design, as these tasks are handled by dedicated teams.
  • You are the decision-maker on content accuracy and relevance, working closely with external experts on an equal footing.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience in financial accounting, accounting, or tax consulting.
  • Proficient use of DATEV, including bookkeeping, payroll, and monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Ability to work independently and in a structured manner, proactively identifying tasks without waiting for instructions.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to engage with colleagues, external experts, and learners in live formats.
  • Quick comprehension and excellent written and verbal German language skills.
  • Enthusiasm for building something new and openness to modern, AI-supported workflows.
  • A training certificate or AEVO qualification is a plus but not required; didactic skills will be taught.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Remote-first work environment with optional in-person meetings up to three times per month depending on the role.
  • Comprehensive onboarding to ensure full integration from day one.
  • Travel support covering costs for regular strategy and team events.
  • High-quality Apple equipment and modern tools provided.
  • Monthly benefit budget of €100, usable for Urban Sports Club, internet allowance, meal subsidies, vouchers, and more.
  • Option to work remotely from abroad for up to 60 days after the probation period.
  • 31 paid vacation days, with flexible options to increase up to 50 days for extended time off.

Location

Remote-first within Germany, with occasional in-person meetings as required.
