Overview
This role involves managing and optimizing cloud discount instruments through algorithms and automation. The ideal candidate will have a background in finance, complex billing, data science, or cloud operations, with strong problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of FinOps, including Reserved Instances and Savings Plans. The position focuses on evolving operational activities to support increasingly complex FinOps functions within an autonomous cloud management system.
Responsibilities
- Analyze data and perform financial/FinOps operations
- Solve complex problems related to cloud cost optimization
- Ensure the system can handle advanced FinOps functions
- Take ownership of challenges and implement solutions autonomously
Requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address core issues
- Comfortable working with numbers, complex charts, and performing ad hoc spreadsheet analysis
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with a low error rate
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Deep knowledge of Cloud FinOps, including Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, cost and usage data, and basic finance and accounting principles
- Familiarity with Cloud FinOps tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
